So the lease is over on my 2003 Ford Excursion, and I really really want a silver Hummer H2 bu my husband says?

no, he wants something that is faster for driving on the highway for my commute to work everyday (40 miles). We also need something that is family friendly because i do have a 11 year old daughter. Is there anyway I could convince him to get the Hummer (they are so hot!) Like is there faster version or something??So the lease is over on my 2003 Ford Excursion, and I really really want a silver Hummer H2 bu my husband says?Don't listen to those misinformed eco-freaks. Their hybrids pose a much greater risk to the environment with their huge 600 volt battery packs that are considered hazardous waste when they are eventually disposed of. As for your question, there isn't a faster version of the H2 from the factory but you have some after market options. You could have a supercharger installed for arround $6,000 or for about $30,000 you could have a full diesel conversion done which would make it WAY faster and it would get 25+ MPG...huh...you like? LoL hope you get your H2, I love my H3.So the lease is over on my 2003 Ford Excursion, and I really really want a silver Hummer H2 bu my husband says?
you want something that is family friendly?? How about environmentally friendly?? Geez, people driving around hummers make me freakin sick! It's such a disgusting waste of dwindling resources!!

40 miles a day in a hummer, hmmmmm, wonder how much gas that will waste!!!

instead of wanting to look cool and 'hot' how about saving some earth for your children's children. So the lease is over on my 2003 Ford Excursion, and I really really want a silver Hummer H2 bu my husband says? You suck ppl like you shouldnt drive Global warming ring a bell dumbass
Tell your husband to get out. Now the thing is a few hundred pounds lighter. You'll go so fast your cheeks will be in the back seat.So the lease is over on my 2003 Ford Excursion, and I really really want a silver Hummer H2 bu my husband says?I am hoping that he is the driver ????

personally i'd massively downsize the car, save on gas, help the environment, and qualify for the cash for clunkers program and save a ton of money, as well.

*geez, judo, i've lost my touch! how embarrassing!
I hate to say it but you reinforce all the old stereotypes about women car buyers. LOL No one needs a Hummer to haul 1 kid around, even if she is the most popular kid in the school. Think of the operating cost, the lousy gas mileage, the poor resale value and the effect on the environment. Do you want your 11 yo to grow up in a polluted world? So the lease is over on my 2003 Ford Excursion, and I really really want a silver Hummer H2 bu my husband says?
I agree with everyone above. I only clicked on this question so I could laugh at how ridiculous it was.
If you want a Hummer, then fine. Get it as a stand-by recreational vehicle.

If you want something for the family and commuting, then forget the Hummer. It's not made for either function. It consumes lots of fuel. It's not made to transport family members...maybe some are modified to do so, and other vehicles do better for those functions.

Hummers are great for going off the road. They have a relatively low center of mass. They have great traction compared with other vehicles in less than desirable conditions.

None of this is needed by most commuters and family outings.
Since Hummers are not selling due the extremely high price tag as well as the need to own your own gas station, you probably can get a good price. The fact that the Chinese bought Hummer would make me run as far as possible from them. Are you familiar with the dog and cat food and treats, the baby formula, the lead paint on toys? They are all designed to kill us, our babies and our pets. They probably now will program these cars to self-destruct in so many miles. I don't know who you think will consider you "Hot" in one - the majority of people will think you look Stupid for driving one. Even a new one is now considered a "clunker" by the Government. BTW- If you owned the Excursion, you would normally get no more than $2000 for it on a trade, however the CARS program will give you $4500 if you buy a fuel economy car just to the the Ford off the roads.
LOL at the eco friendly people here. Yous just don't know.

btw you shouldn't need to convince your husband to buy the hummer get the dealer to.
Hummmers are hot in the sense that they're releasing loads of bad stuff that would contribute to global warming....

Get something with good gas mileage. I think Honda Accord/Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Kia Spectra are a few pretty good ones. LOL, my dad had a little Ford Escort from the mid-90's that got 40 mpg, no kidding, back before people really cared about the environment...
