Does GM's Hummer build the Humvee for the military?

If yes, I am certainly glad we have been looking for its replacement since GM plans to sell Hummer to a Chinese company. How far are we from completely replacing the humvee?Does GM's Hummer build the Humvee for the military? No, the military Humvee is built by AM General. Totally different company.

And on a related note, early stories (so far) are that the new owners of the civilian Hummer nameplate intend to keep Hummer production going in the US.Does GM's Hummer build the Humvee for the military? The civilian hummer is built on a Suburban chassis while the military vehicle uses an AM General chassis. GM uses Hummer as a name brand where the military hummer is an acronym for Highly Mobile Multi Wheeled Vehicle or HMMW V. GM used Hummer it as a sales gimmick after the military success in Iraq in 1992. Very few civilian Hummers are actually military version. Arnold Schwarzeneggererjlkjasdgj was the first to purchase a Hummer for personal use and his was an actual AM General Hummer.Does GM's Hummer build the Humvee for the military?im really not sure but by brother is at AIT and he is going to be working on military vehicles and they said that they are not going to stop the use of them completely but they are bring a better vehicle that can handle road side bomb better

( the thing id that they just introduced them a couple weeks ago to start training on them ( not to use yet) and the already had three deaths with them because the are top have and when going into ditches the flip)Does GM's Hummer build the Humvee for the military?
