I think saving on gas beats both of the issues you stated there.

I see no problem with EITHER...the drilling that is going on now in Alaska has not hurt ANY of the wildlife in that area..as a matter of fact, the caribou population has exploded around the pipeline..seems the enjoy the added warmth the pipeline admits...and if we drill in "Anwar, which by the way is nothing but frozen tundra, with the advances we now have, the impact to the wildlife would be NIL....and the drilling would be in an area the size of a postage stamp in the middle of a football field...your question implies that to own a Hummer is ...wrong??...evil??....stop worrying what someone chooses to drive...if that person wants a Hummer...SO BE IT....stop envying..and if that person wants to spend his money for gas for that hummer...ITS HIS MONEY!!!...ENVY...JEALOUSY...THESE are the things driving many in the so called environMENTAL, no drill activists..they want EVERYONE to live a mediocre life just like they are...that is easier then lifting themselves up, bettering THEIR situation, and becoming more successful themselves...THIS is the root to the environMENTAL movement...
