What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?

The General Motors H2/H3 models - H1s were difficult to come by for civilians - were very competent rock hoppers, the equal of any comparably-equipped Jeep. If you didn't take them offroad, however, you had to deal with a stiff ride and a gluttonous thirst, and since they're out of production, Hummer-specific parts supplies will dry up a bit faster than usual. Pros: You'll get noticed for driving a tank down the road. You can go off-roading anywhere you please, and the bragging rights to go with it.



Cons: You'll get under 10mpg; You'll have "green" people shaking their fist at you as you drive by them. Maintenance beyond brakes and oil changes may not be handled by any auto shop.



Pro/Con: Hummers didn't get model year updates like typical car/truck. Because of how gov't contracts work, updates and fixes were slipstreamed into production models as soon as they were available.
