What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?

The General Motors H2/H3 models - H1s were difficult to come by for civilians - were very competent rock hoppers, the equal of any comparably-equipped Jeep. If you didn't take them offroad, however, you had to deal with a stiff ride and a gluttonous thirst, and since they're out of production, Hummer-specific parts supplies will dry up a bit faster than usual. (Many of the mechanical bits were shared with Chevrolet and GMC.)What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?Well, it depends on which Hummer you're talking about, since there's an H1, H2, and H3. I'll assume you're talking about the "real" Hummer.

H1 -

Pros: You'll get noticed for driving a tank down the road. You can go off-roading anywhere you please, and the bragging rights to go with it.

Cons: You'll get under 10mpg; You'll have "green" people shaking their fist at you as you drive by them. Maintenance beyond brakes and oil changes may not be handled by any auto shop.

Pro/Con: Hummers didn't get model year updates like typical car/truck. Because of how gov't contracts work, updates and fixes were slipstreamed into production models as soon as they were available. There are websites like www.flashoffroad.com that go over these changes in detail. What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?
Pro - you think you are cool driving an ugly gas hog.

Con - you are not cool, you are going broke buying gas, the drive is harsh, you are not comfortable, it is hard to park, it is difficult to maneuver. What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?pro - not a single one unless looking like a jerk in an overpriced gas hog is appealing to you.

cons - #1 reason is the 13 mpg you'll get and

#2 - A fill up will cost you $90 and you'll need one once a week. What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?
Pro: the vitrolic hatred that the drivers generate toward themselves by the general public causes them to change their enviro-destroying ways.

Con: It's dangerous to be so hated. What are the pros and cons of driving/owning a Hummer?they drink way too much gas...
