My Hummer H3 is making a grinding noise when I apply brake pressure, Sounds like its coming from the front brake area. Anybody have any idea what it might be, pads, rotors, something else? I have 80K on the vehicle, and have never had brakes worked on. Thanks for your helpMy Hummer H3 is making a grinding noise when I apply the brakes. Sounds like its from the front. Pads, rotors? The first guy is right, have your brakes checked quick style. If you catch it in time, you might be able to have the rotors resurfaced instead of replacing them. The pads will definitely have to be replaced. My Hummer H3 is making a grinding noise when I apply the brakes. Sounds like its from the front. Pads, rotors?Grinding noise means you have metal on metal contact. The pads are worn right down to the metal retainer and now you are grinding away your rotors. Its going to be way more expensive the longer you leave it, especially if you crash due to worn out brakes.
